The Composers Brunch — Songwriters Workshop
The Songwriters Association of Uganda (SWAU) proudly hosted the first edition of The Composers Brunch, a groundbreaking workshop dedicated to empowering songwriters and strengthening the foundation of Uganda’s music industry.
Held in Kampala, this inaugural edition brought together composers, lyricists, producers, and key stakeholders across the music value chain for meaningful conversations around the business of songwriting, copyright awareness, and the evolving creative economy.
The workshop featured insightful presentations and discussions led by industry leaders and institutions, including URSB on copyright registration, songwriter earnings, digital streaming platforms, contract management, mental health in creativity, ownership rights, social media, and AI in music composition.
With more editions planned, The Composers Brunch is set to become a defining platform for shaping the future of songwriting in Uganda.
